TARIFF TALK, CONTINUED

THE LATEST PLAN

Hi Friends,

In our effort to keep you up to date with everything Esker, we would like to expand on our last communication about the state of tariffs in the United States. While the initial blanket tariff increase of 10% went into effect over three months ago, we’ve been patiently (and optimistically) waiting for the final numbers to shake out. On August 1st, the official ruling landed and it’s not exactly what we were hoping for...

Tariffs on the goods we import have officially jumped from 0% to 10% and finally to 20%.

While many companies in our industry responded early by adding surcharges to their pricing before the dust had even settled, we chose to take a different route. Rather than making assumptions or passing on speculative costs, we held tight to our pricing until we had a clear picture. Unfortunately, that picture is now framed in 20% tariffs.

So, here’s what’s happening: Effective September 1st, 2025: a 10% Tariff Surcharge will be applied to all new orders.

We want to give some runway to those of you who may still be on the fence about purchasing an Esker. Either from our website or from our awesome retail partners. So you still have the rest of the month to get that new bike before the surcharge is applied.

*For those of you with orders in the cue, not to worry, you’re locked in. No surprise fees or last-minute additions. And if you place an order before September 1st, it’s surcharge-free, that includes any Titanium Pre-Orders or Steel Pre-Orders on out-of-stock models/sizes.

Looking for a silver lining?
We’ve always chosen to assemble our bikes here in the U.S. and invest in a small-batch, local-first approach. Because of that, we avoid some of the additional tariffs and duties that brands relying on overseas assembly. We currently import frames while Kyle, Tuck and Chad get them assembled here in our Minneapolis headquarters. It is unclear where pricing will land on components from our other suppliers, but we’ll continue doing our best to absorb those costs where we can.

We know this kind of news is a bummer, and we don’t take these changes lightly. It goes against the very essence of our mission statement; To make the highest quality bicycles for you to enjoy nature, at the most affordable price.

But we’re grateful, truly, for the continued support, trust, and good vibes everyone has been bringing to this Esker community. We’re doing everything we can to stay transparent, fair, and committed to delivering high-quality bikes without cutting corners or compromising our values.

Thanks for riding this out with us.

With appreciation and gratitude,

-The Esker Cycles Team
