The Fixed Adjustable Nut is just that, its a nut that is fixed in place, but allows for chainstay length adjustment. We found that most of our users like the variety of ways the Portage dropout can be set up, but used it in a "set it and forget it" manner 95% of the time. The FAN nut allows the Portage dropout to always retain all of its adjustability, while also being completely foolproof for most normal use.
